These most recent neighbors of ours are not filthy drunken bums in oil leaking junkers. We’ve seen whole families crammed into small cars, trying to sleep upright - while we sleep in our comfy full size bed, complete with reading lights and stuffed animals. We stay at Wal-Marts by choice - they don’t.

During the campaign both presidential candidates have promised us lower taxes, higher wages, lower interest rates, lower medical insurance costs, and better national security. Both of them have promised that we will be healthier, wealthier and happier if they are the President. The final winner may fulfill some, none, or all of his promises - we won’t know for sure until we are well into the next term. The real bottom line is how their policies will affect you and your family.

Biden vs. Palin - Notes on the VP debate

It was a night of Sarah Palin doing Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin.

Palin’s unique character was on full display as she refered to Saturday afternoon soccer games and used phrases like “darn right,” “you betcha,” and “doggone it.” She even winked at the audience several times as she spoke in her exaggerated midwestern twang. Her approach often appeared condescending, almost as if she was speaking to a group of elementary school kids rather than a nationwide audience of potential voters.
