John McCain and Barack Obama engaged in a rather restrained debate Tuesday evening about who was to blame for the current economy and which one could actually solve the nation’s problems.
Tom Brokaw moderated, asking questions from the audience and the Internet. At times both pushed the limits of the truth, but the most interesting part of the evening may have occurred after the debate was over.

It was a night of Sarah Palin doing Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin.
Palin’s unique character was on full display as she refered to Saturday afternoon soccer games and used phrases like “darn right,” “you betcha,” and “doggone it.” She even winked at the audience several times as she spoke in her exaggerated midwestern twang. Her approach often appeared condescending, almost as if she was speaking to a group of elementary school kids rather than a nationwide audience of potential voters.
