The late, great Republican Party

Future Republican flag?

I would like to think that all is not lost for the Republican Party and that last November’s disastrous election will not really mark the end of their influence. This country needs all the checks and balances available to it, especially in Congress, but unless the GOP changes course it is likely to find itself irrelevant for years to come.

It is unclear what Palin’s motives might be, but already many commentators on both sides of the political spectrum have expressed their opinion that Palin may have “committed political suicide.”

Decision Day

George Bush and John McCain

As for John McCain, I wanted to be able to vote for him in 2000, but George W. Bush and his cheats stole that from me. Now I’m not so sure it would have been a good vote even then. While you’re coming up with answers to those questions, try this answering this one with a straight face: Are carrying on a war in Iraq and building a natural gas pipeline in Alaska (according to [...]

It's the Economy, Stupid!

John McCain

Now that the Republican Convention is over, it is very clear now that only the Democrats seem to understand that it is the economic situation in the United States that will determine the eventual outcome of the Presidential Election. Every speaker at the Republican Convention took time to describe John McCain’s five horrible years in [...]

Sarah Palin – a potential dictator?

Bush, Palin and a very nervous McCain

As the week progresses and as more background information about Sarah Palin begins to appear in various newspapers and blogs, John McCain must be getting a lot more nervous about his choice of Palin as the Republican Party’s Vice Presidential nominee. Palin is not turning out to be just the beautiful “hockey mom from a [...]
